With DS4 windows open, button commands do not register in PPSSPP

I have DS4 open because I need to map one of my controller buttons to a keyboard hotkey and this makes controls in game not work. I tried with other emulators and its fine so seems unique to PPSSPP. I tried closing DS4 and it works fine so some compatibility issue.
