[Feature Request]: research on new pre-commit hooks

Feature description

We are currently using just a portion of what pre-commit offers. Please have a look at the list of available hooks (together with its configuration) and decide which one to use. Please pass this as a separate idr-tasks issue with the final .pre-commit-config.yaml file in order to populate across our packages.
