java server crashes

Hello,

I'm running a minecraft java server based on the simple docker compose example on an ubuntu server.
Since an image update few weeks ago, the server is just lagging and crashing.

I'm pretty sure, this is not related to your provided docker image, but maybe someone has an idea in which direction I need to dig to get this solved? (Kids are complaining already ;)

Alternatively: is switching back to an older tag possible, or is the server data now migrated to a non backward compatible content?

Changing to an older image tag won't make a difference since lil you said, Minecraft server crashes have nothing to do with the image or docker. FYI though

It looks like the server lagged so much that the watchdog killed it. Can you provide your container config, like compose file, and can see what suggestions from that?

Yeah a lot of game engines have to optimize their main loop to run in a single thread/core. Good theory about the upgrade and hopefully that was it.

the server was fine for some a few hours. Kids were able to join and play.

But unfortunately, the problem somehow still exists again:
With MAX_TICK_TIME -1 still set, after joining the server, the world is not loaded fully (only 20 blocks distance, rest of the world is missing / not rendered) and the player gets disconnected after a few seconds.

Sorry, I think this is beyond where I can help. The image just downloads and runs Mojang's provided server software so you may need to ask around on their Discord at this point.
