It would be great to be able to trunk edges, eg condense to a single line that breaks fans out to the ports close to the node.
Probably only for edges between same two nodes, but maybe not.
This would enable modelling of certain real world scenarios such as electrical wiring hat has edges (cores or wires) that are trunked in groups in cables (or in the sheath of the cable if you consider hierarchy strictly).
You might consider in this context a wire is single wire with a single sheath, but if in a cable it is a core, in a sheath, grouped with other cores, grouped in an overall sheath. Therefore it is desirable to have both a wire identifier and a core identifier, in in a cable, which also has a cable identifier.
What would be nice is if you could select a bunch of edges and then trunk them, or a trunk (cable) and some edges and have those edges added to the trunk.
