Fresh Mac

  1. Install Apple Command Line Tools.
  2. Install Homebrew.
  3. Clone this repository to ~/.dotfiles.
  4. Run:
brew bundle --file=~/.dotfiles/Brewfile
  1. Follow:
docs/terminal-setup.md

Runtime policy

  • Homebrew: applications, CLI utilities, services.
  • mise: Node, Python and other language runtimes.

Maintenance

Check the Brewfile:

brew bundle check --file=~/.dotfiles/Brewfile

Install anything missing:

brew bundle --file=~/.dotfiles/Brewfile

Preview packages Homebrew considers extra:

brew bundle cleanup --file=~/.dotfiles/Brewfile

Run cleanup without --force first so removals can be reviewed.

Secrets

Do not commit API keys, passwords, private SSH keys, tokens, or secret .env files.
