Managed Mode

What is the thinking behind going to Managed Mode? I tried it and found that all my other upload links to other AIS sites were disabled. I quickly returned back to Classic Configuration. I don't want to lose the ability to broadcast to any sites that I choose, should I be looking for an alternative AIS capture system?

The classical version you're using isn't going away and will keep being updated. Managed mode is just an extra feature, with no restrictions on who you can share with, etc.

Managed mode simply adds control functionality directly into the program: start/stop and editing settings, all from the browser. So if you want to manage things via the browser, you only need to install one tool (AIS-catcher, not AIS-catcher-Control).
The one catch is that moving from the classical approach to managed mode doesn't automatically transfer your existing settings — you'll need to enter them fresh. Maybe that's the point you were getting at? An auto-upgrade would be nice, since this does seem to be a sticking point for a few people.

In managed mode, you get a bottom bar in the browser that lets you manage everything, plus a wizard to onboard new users. That's really all there is to it.

What makes you think there are blockers in managed mode?

Thanks for your explanation. I have now transferred to managed mode and re-inputted the information for the sites I upload to. Everything seems to be working as it should. I had not spotted the log-in at the bottom left of the page and I think that's what threw me initially.
