Set up/edit garbage collection

Hello there,

I am using K3s for about 1/2 year and in general I am very happy with it.

I just wanted to know how I can set up a more strict garbage collection policy to not let the disk fill up too much.

Any one can give me some infos where I can modify that?

CLI args work equally well though, whatever you prefer.

Yes, but it states that it is being used at installation.
As my cluster is already running and there was not config.yml in my directory I ignored that documentation topic.

Just because it's in the installation section of the docs doesn't mean it's not important later. Just like CLI flags, you can modify the config whenever. It's just that, generally folks configure things correctly when initially installing and don't change it much afterwards.

Okay so when the file does not exists I simply create it at /etc/rancher/k3s/config.yml? Currently there is only the k3s.yaml file.

If so do I need to to pass kind of a --config /etc/rancher/k3s/config.yml at the systemd service?

Correct, you just create the file and then restart the K3s service. K3s will automatically pick up values in the config.
