Based on requirements presented and discussed in #371 , the goal of this feature is to remove the need for shell environment variables and bash scripting.

Proposed solution

This will introduce a new command line interface, and a full python implementation for all aspects of the code (i.e., standup, run and teardown). The work is being done on the branch declarative-python-refactor

The branch declarative-python-refactor is a work-in-progress of the "end goal" of becoming a fully compliant python package - this is a long term objective.

Within this branch is a feature called parser. This can and will be used immediately as a way to remove much unneeded code in the existing code base. The parser will take in a specification file template that contains paths to defaults, scenario, and template files to fully generate all YAMLs needed for a given plan.

The current state of the parser feature is pretty close to being done, there are a few outstanding bugs and features I am working on and I will document in a different thread on this issue.
