The panel should not be here. There must be some criteria for Logic to glue the panel to a third party plugin.
The question came up as a collegue asked me if he is supposed to set MPE mode and bend range in all three locations, in the plugin and in the synth and in the flap below the plugin. I was confused because I play with MPE for years and have never noticed that some non-Logic MPE plugins show this panel. For an experienced player it is easy to find out that the panel does nothing, but musicians new to MPE are confused because they do not know yet how the synth should react to different playing techniques.
Maybe you don’t care about this panel, but below is a short list of my MPE plugins and their "Logic flap" state:
Full MPE synths:
Newfangled Audio Generate — no Logic flap
Roli Equator — has Logic flap
Madrona Labs Aalto & Kaivo — have Logic flaps
Script loading MPE synth:
UVI Falcon — no Logic flap
Nearly MPE synth (multichannel aware):
u-he Bazille — no Logic flap
All of these synths play MPE or MPE-like. For example, they can pitchbend notes in different directions, which is the quickest test.
