Microphone not accessible - Ubuntu 23.10 Snap install

Describe the bug

After a snap install on Ubuntu 23.10 everything works fine but not the microphone.
A popup shows message "Unable to access microphone. Please check settings."

Microphone Access in Electron Apps

Windows

• Electron-specific permissions not required.
• Manual permission granting might be necessary:
  1. Go to Settings > Privacy > Microphone.
  2. Ensure "Allow apps to access your microphone" is enabled.
  3. Verify app access under "Desktop apps that can access your microphone".
     • If absent, click "Manage desktop app permissions" and add it.

macOS

• Explicit request essential using systemPreferences.askForMediaAccess('microphone').
• Additional requirements for macOS Monterey and later:
  • Add "com.apple.security.device.audio-input": true to Info.plist.
  • Specify usage description using "NSMicrophoneUsageDescription" key in app's bundle or package.json.

Linux

• Typically granted automatically upon app launch.
• Troubleshooting:
  • Review system privacy settings.
  • Verify audio capture permissions.

VCL can be tested using iperf network performance tool.
here is a deployment example with client/server pods for tests.

In an iperf3-vcl pod, at entrypoint, we have test/yaml/iperf3-vcl/iperf3-vcl.sh script that:

• Generates the /etc/vpp/vcl.conf configuration file which will be picked up by the VCL library as we did set VCL_CONFIG=/etc/vpp/vcl.conf
• Uses LD_PRELOAD=/usr/local/lib/vpp/libvcl_ldpreload.so which is roughly equivalent of dynamically linking the iperf3 binary against the VCL instead of the libc (so piping the connect() and accept() syscall to VPP instead of linux).
• performs iperf3 -4 -s which creates the listener session
