Link to a parent file

Hi,
What would be the most efficient way to create a property linking to the parent folder? After many trial and errors I managed to set up a formula, which points to the parent folder note (I am using folder notes plugin)

The actual formula I used is as follows

"[[" + (current.file.folder.split('/').pop() === current.file.basename ? 
        current.file.folder.split('/').slice(-2)[0] : 
        current.file.folder.split('/').pop()) + "]]"

Would it work for large data? If not, is there a better way to approach this?

I have also done another formula column, to see the path

current.file.folder.split('/').slice(1).join('/')

I am worried that formula will not perform well in larger scale.
Any thoughts?

Oh, the reason I did this is to see links based on folder structure on the graph. Maybe there is a better way to achieve such visualization?
