Can BigSCAPE be run in separate steps?

Hi everyone,

I’m running BiG-SCAPE on an HPC system that uses Slurm for job scheduling. I’m wondering if it’s possible to execute BiG-SCAPE in separate stages or steps rather than as a single monolithic job. My goal is to optimize resource usage and reduce billing costs—for instance, by allocating different resources for the heavy and light parts of the workflow.

Has anyone tried breaking the workflow into separate phases or found alternative approaches to avoid over-allocating resources for the entire run?

Thanks for reaching out! This is a nice idea! At the moment it is not possible to do this directly with the current version of BiG-SCAPE, but we have added it to our wish list and hope to work on this in the near(ish) future!
