Make it use normal keys combination e.g A+B , Z + J etc #17555
Comments
/dup #3481 |
Hi! We've identified this issue as a duplicate of another one that already exists on this Issue Tracker. This specific instance is being closed in favor of tracking the concern over on the referenced thread. Thanks for your report! |
@franky920920 This is NOT a duplicate of #3481. #3481 is about modifier only key combinations, where all of the keys pressed are modifier keys, e.g. Ctrl+Shift+NONE. This issue is a request for non-modifier key combinations, where none of the keys pressed are actually modifier keys, instead you'd be treating a normal key as if it were a new modifier key, e.g. A+H would mean that you hold the A key as if it were a modifier key, and press the H key to activate something. I'm not entirely sure how I feel about non-modifier key combinations for keyboard shortcuts. Conceptually it seems kind of interesting, but I can see where there might be some hurdles to making a good implementation of it. but whether it's a good or bad idea that should or shouldn't be added to PowerToys, it's definitely NOT a dupe of #3481. |
@franky920920 that is exactly what i meant. That would super cool, have ever palyed quake ? E.g quake 2 you can bind some keys or key combination for giver weapon eg you press E and you get rocket launcher. There is a limited amount of modifier keys and also they are harder to reach so that would be very useful if you could use non modifier key kombination. |
Description of the new feature / enhancement
it's quite limiting to use only control keys like ctrl, alt, shift etc
Scenario when this would be used?
everywhere
