https://code.visualstudio.com/docs/cpp/cmake-tools
is a dead link; consider URI routing to
https://github.com/microsoft/vscode-cmake-tools/blob/main/docs/README.md

Not sure if anything other than ChatGPT will ever look for it. Well. Aren't we the com.oddity.

@CodeByNate Is this a URL that is being referenced somewhere or are you asking for a new URL to be added for the purpose of rerouting to the extension's README?

I was trying to configure a workspace to use both tasks.json and CMAKE with the help of ChatGPT because toolchains make my head spin, and the LM led me to a page, which had the above link.

Thank you for your swift response. This is my first interaction on GitHub, so I was excited to see the update. I wish I could be of more help pinning down the page the served up the missing link. I'll check my screenshots, and if I can find it, I'll reach out. Otherwise, there's probably not much you can do unless there's a database of all a hrefs in both the static and dynamic content of every page ASP.net serves up. Maybe I'm over thinking it.

I'm closing the issue, as there is no need to trifle, since the expected documentation can still be found with little effort.

Great work with Code! The intuitive interface and seamless integration with the features I use make cross-platform development a dream I can live with rather than a nightmare I fear treading into. So thank you!

@CodeByNate Thanks for the kind feedback! Curious, have you considered asking Copilot in VS Code about using tasks.json and CMAKE? You can do so directly from the Chat view in VS Code.

You can now use Copilot for Free (recurring monthly quota): https://aka.ms/vscode-activatecopilotfree. Let us know what you think about the experience!
