Default branch other than master

I would really like it if there could be a way to change the branch the script is checking out to. My project is on the main default branch.

Perhaps another environment variable with the name of the branch would be nice to have. It could be optional and just default to master (or get the default remote branch instead, with git symbolic-ref --short HEAD)

Might be time to change the default from master to main
