Thermal or haline forcing at ice front vs melt rate

Scatter plots over time to explore different regimes - do these show a quadratic scaling like Holland et al. (2008) which is used for ice sheet model melt parameterisations?

An aside that might affect this analysis: if the temperature at the ice front is changing, how related is that to the melt rate at the same time?

Issue: the transect used to calculate an average temperature in variable temperatureYZ is inside the cavity at x=520km. The ice front is at around 650km, grounding line 460km.

We don't have the full 3D temperature data. We could use the values from the central transect temperatureXZ at the value of x=650km at the ice front? Or just use the 520km YZ transect.

On another note, these are also sensitive to the geometry of the ice, I think that drives the difference between the lines.
