Uncaught ReferenceError

I just gave this a try and it failed,

Uncaught ReferenceError: $ is not defined gistBlogger.js:125

This was a standard theme from Blogger...

Blogger's dynamic view theme uses Jquery, if jquery is not defined , the script will not load ... maybe i should remove the Jquery dependency to to make the script more generic.

Thanks. I found the hidden "Interpret typed HTML" option which was the trick to get it working out of the box on the older themes.
