Just something to keep in mind: we will probably want to keep whatever add-on services we offer early on to a very low-cost-to-us kind of service. Questionably difficult ones that stick out to me in that omg.lol list is:
Mastodon ( We were thinking something lighter-weight I think, but it's still extra infrastructure )
Email forwarding ( Might not be that difficult, but might cost us more if it pushes up our postmark bill )
Photo sharing
Bridged chatrooms
The rest of it looks like it could be built right on top of Weird anyway, so that we're not taking on extra infrastructure at least.
And obviously if we're charging more for the things that cost us more that'd pay off at some point, so maybe it's not a problem at all, just wanted to keep it in mind.
Should be a good test of the Weird/Leaf API:
We want the ability to set up a page called ‘Upcoming Services’ that lists a bunch of stuff like this:
https://home.omg.lol/info/services
..and then paying users get to order them according to what they most want us to add next.
They can rank just one item (leaving the rest in the unranked pile), or the whole thing (maybe max out at 10).
As soon as 5-10 customers have submitted their ranking, we have a very good idea of what service add-on we ought to set up next.
