Upgrading from 4.1.11 to 4.2.1

Hello, running my Netbox on Red Hat Enterprise Linux 8.10 normally when upgrading I issue as follow:

sudo -i
cd /opt/netbox/
git checkout master 
Already on 'master'
Your branch is up to date with 'origin/master'.
git pull origin master 
./upgrade.sh

After upgrading to 4.1.11 when issue "git pull origin master " getting below:

From https://github.com/netbox-community/netbox
 * branch                master     -> FETCH_HEAD
Already up to date.

What do I need to do to get 4.2.1 ?

The branching model has changed, you need to follow the new upgrade instructions.

Sadly, this doesn't appear to have been called out in the release notes for v4.2.0. It's definitely a breaking change for people used to tracking the master branch.

In short, there is no longer any branch you can directly follow to stay on the latest release. You have to check out each tagged version explicitly. You can get more info from discussion #18297

Turn off this advice by setting config variable advice.detachedHead to false

HEAD is now at d04fc11c6 Release v4.2.1 (#18346)
[root@ussd-prd-nbox01 netbox]# ./upgrade.sh

them and during upgrade got error:

ModuleNotFoundError: No module named 'dcim.api.nested_serializers'

This may be related to some plugin but can someone point me to the right direction?

Please show the full backtrace (i.e. all the text above that error message).

Otherwise, if you have plugins in local_requirements.txt then try commenting them out one by one. Netbox does not provide a stable API, so it's highly likely that plugins have not been updated to work with Netbox 4.2
