I don't want a data sharing system to provide a replacement for my thoroughly checked files. So it would be great if we could turn this off either for the whole repo or per organization.

It would be also OK if the original files are listed and linked primarily and the converted-to-tab version via a less prominent link (as exists now for the original file).

Especially for Excel/xlsx the autoconversion is problematic because the xlsx-files can have much richer content than tab.
