This directory contains templates for your private/organization-specific customizations.
# One-time setup: Copy templates to .local/
cp -r .local.example/* .local/

└── .local/skills/vault-helper/... ← Yours (private, gitignored)
Rule: Files in .local/ mirror the repo structure and contain your private data.

The install script (./install.sh) handles overlay merging automatically. Files in .local/ take precedence when you reference them explicitly.
When you want your version:
"Read .local/skills/vault-helper/references/examples.md"
When you want generic version (or sharing):
"Read skills/vault-helper/references/examples.md"

Pick which components ./install.sh should skip. Run the interactive picker
and the file is generated for you:
./install.sh --configure # pick items, then install
./install.sh --configure-only # pick items, then exitOr copy the template and edit by hand:
cp .local.example/profile.yaml .local/profile.yaml
$EDITOR .local/profile.yaml
./install.sh # honors the disable listsWhen .local/profile.yaml is absent, ./install.sh installs the full toolkit
exactly as before — the feature is opt-in.
The picker uses questionary (checkbox UI) when installed; without it, a
plain numbered prompt runs instead. No new required dependency. The Codex
mirror filters top-level skills, agents, and hooks; nested category skills
are filtered in the Claude tree.
- Start small: Only copy files you need to customize
- Keep generic versions: Don't delete the public versions
- Document your changes: Add comments explaining org-specific parts
- Share templates: If others in your org use this, share your
.local/structure - Use config.yaml: Store common variables (team name, repo URLs, etc.)
Create .local/github-actions-check.yaml:
# Map your working directories to repositories
repositories:
/home/youruser/project1: your-org/project1
/home/youruser/project2: your-org/project2Create .local/skills/vault-helper/references/examples.md:
# Your team's Vault paths
- secrets/your-team/production
- secrets/your-team/stagingCreate .local/config.yaml:
# Default repositories for PR mining
default_repos:
- your-org/main-repo
- your-org/shared-libs
