What were you trying to do?

Hi,

A fairly minor issue here: I'm trying to install the jbig2 encoder, which I only got to work after installing the additional package pkg-config. (This is also portrayed here)

However, your documentation states:

Dependencies include libtoolize and libleptonica, which on Ubuntu systems are packaged as libtool and libleptonica-dev. On Fedora (35) they are packaged as libtool and leptonica-devel. For this to work, please make sure to install autotools, automake, libtool and leptonica first if not already installed.

[sudo] apt install autotools-dev automake libtool libleptonica-dev

Hence I'd appreciate if you'd update the documentation to reflect this, including the additional package there as well.

Where are you installing/running from?

Linux package manager (apt, dnf, etc.)

OCRmyPDF version

No response

What operating system are you working on?

Linux

Operating system details and version

LXC container on debian 12.8 template

Simple sanity checks

  • Operating system is currently supported by its vendor (not end of life)
  • Python version is compatible with OCRmyPDF
  • This issue is not about a specific input file
