Possibility to force Superwhisper mode in Macrowhisper

Right now I need to keep track of both the Superwhisper mode and Macrowhisper mode to adapt to the situation. I usually have specific Superwhisper-modes for specifik MW-modes. Wouldn't it be possible to set Superwhisper mode to be used in the Macrowhisper json or Alfred workflow when selecting MW-mode there?
Then I can trigger my MW-mode from Alfred and be sure it's the correct Superwhisper mode selected.

If I’m understanding correctly, what you’re looking for is already there. Have you tried using the triggerModes field in Macrowhisper's config?

Since you mention you already have Superwhisper modes set up for specific actions, I think all you need to do is insert the Superwhisper mode in that field. The corresponding action should execute as long as there's no other conflicting triggers.

It's the other way around. I'm always going through Macrowhisper to activate an action (through Alfred workflow). And different Macrowhisper modes have different Superwhisper modes in order to work correctly. If I'm switching Macrowhisper-action quickly but forget to also change Superwhisper mode first, my process fails and I get unexpected results.

It would have been really powerful to control the Superwhisper mode based on the active Macrowhisper mode. Instead of triggerMode which reacts to Superwhisper mode, think of it as actionMode that controls Superwhisper mode instead. Would be super handy when used from the Alfred workflow as Superwhisper dictation prompt is triggered there anyway, and be sure the right Superwhisper mode is always used in that specific Macrowhisper action.

I see. Right now Macrowhisper isn’t really set up to drive Superwhisper. The flow is the other way around: Superwhisper runs first, and its processed results are what Macrowhisper reacts to. The pipeline is already quite complex as it is so I'm not planning a change to this anytime soon.

That said, Superwhisper does have its own automation hooks for mode-switching + start recordings. If you’re using Alfred (or something similar), you could wire things up so that when you set an active action in Macrowhisper, this also switches the Superwhisper mode via its deeplinks at the same time. That should get you pretty close to what you’re describing.

Thanks, I managed to solve it by the way you proposed. Now each MW-action has the optional "actionMode" attribute used by Alfred workflow to switch SW-mode when selecting an MW-action. Works perfect. 😀
