Avoiding sending a request when channel is empty

Hi,
When ipmb agent is not responding (during certain procedures, such as updates or resets)
we receive the error message "requestAdd: Sent to I2C failed after retries. busId=0, error=No such device or address".
Are there any plans to implement a query that would prevent sending requests when the channel is empty? For example, at the beginning of the ipmbHandleRequest function.

Has anyone already implemented a solution or encountered this issue before? Checking the existence of a channel before sending a message appears to be a straightforward task in my opinion.
