User story

As a cluster administrator, I want to ensure that OLMv1 works seamlessly with existing cluster configurations, especially when cert-manager is installed. This includes ensuring that cert-manager dependencies are handled properly, without impacting the overall functionality or stability of the cluster.

As a Cluster Administrator:

  • I want to install solutions using OLMv1 in clusters where cert-manager is already present.
  • I do not want OLMv1 to override, replace, or disrupt the existing configuration of cert-manager.
  • I need OLMv1 to respect and integrate with the cluster's existing components without causing conflicts or compatibility issues.

Maintainer Perspective

  • I want cert-manager to be treated as a project dependency and not embedded directly within it.
  • I still want an installer that can install the project and its dependencies so that I can quickly test and develop against it.
  • I need to ensure that users can independently manage cert-manager without interference from the project.
