Change frequency of output in ECHAM

Sorry for bothering you again. I have another question about ESM Tools.
I’d like to get daily outputs, not only monthly outputs, for some variables. I wonder how I can specify on my run script (*yaml).

You are right, that's not in the documentation. In ECHAM you control the output frequency via the namelist.echam and namelist.jsbach. Unfortunately, we don't have a good control of the output variables of ECHAM in ESM-Tools because our namelist parser cannot write repeated sections of a namelist (not a very trivial problem to solve, we will solve it eventually).

The way of overcoming the problem now is to have your own namelist, where you change the output in the way you want it. For that, please follow these steps:

1. Copy the namelist.echam (and the namelist.jsbach) to a folder of your choice.
2. Edit those namelist only for the output variables and their frequencies. Physical parameters are always better changed in the yaml runscript of ESM-Tools.
3. In your yaml runscript change the variable namelist_dir to the absolute path of that folder, so that the edited namelists are the ones used, instead of the default ones:
   echam:
   [ ... ]
   namelist_dir: </absolute/path/to/your/edited/namelists/>
   jsbach: # if you need also control on jsbach variables frequency
   [ ... ]
   namelist_dir: </absolute/path/to/your/edited/namelists/>
