version cross compatibility

Good day all.

So I was assigned this ancient old system running primefaces 6.0 that also has primefaces ultima as a plugin.
now I was tasked with upgrading things to J11 with primefaces 8.0
What I want to know is how easy it would be to get primefaces ultima (I think version 4) if I purchase a license and try to download it.
If I can download a specific version and I have to get the latest, how much of a bother is it going to be to get that running on primefaces 8.0?

I know the license for the current version of ultima is long gone so I'm gonna have to get a new one but thats no biggie.

I dont think its very hard to make it compatible but it does not work OOTB. PrimeFaces 8 is already 6 years old, the current downloads are aligned with PF 15.

You have to know some internals to adjust e.g. Menu Renderers.

I would love to upgrade the system even further but my company is rather limited on time here and I can't just upgrade even higher.
would PF 15 even work with java 11?
