Simple drag&drop sharing bonus feature #1824
Comments
@jancborchardt I have seen something like this somewhere in gitHub, but now cannot find it. |
@wakeup I found 2 old closed issues which I referred here. I also mentioned this functionality in the new tray menu design issue. |
This is really an awesome feature - I now use the pastebin widget extensively to quickly share images but also text. I'd love to have ownCloud underneath instead! |
+1, ownDrop is pretty awesome I have to say. Would be great to integrate this. |
Interesting idea! What I'd like to be able to do via drag-and-drop is to enable a folder / directory for 'syncing' - which isn't neccearily an entirely different thing, but it would involve some different UI. Should I open a new issue / feature request for that? (Is it a feature other folks would like?) |
You might have seen the awesome OS X app ownDrop by @Leandros, which uses ownCloud. It is a small app which makes sharing files dead-simple:
You only need to drag a file onto the tray icon, then:
1.. The file is uploaded
2. The file is automatically shared
3. The share link is copied to your clipboard, ready to paste
(Basically similar to http://www.getcloudapp.com/ )
Now I’m not on OS X but I really like this app and would love for the functionality to be available to more people. It makes sharing really easy.
So would it be possible to add this to the ownCloud client itself?
So @dragotin @danimo @Leandros @jospoortvliet let’s talk about this. :)
