SOG-related WebGL / WebGPU crash / hang #864

Description

@ReactorScram

Hi, here's what I'm seeing:

  • Intel CPU and iGPU
  • Windows 11
  • Chromimum 133
  • The example scenes on https://superspl.at run fine
  • I load my own 67 MB uncompressed PLY into the editor and it looks fine
  • I export the scene as a SOG and get a 5 MB SOG
  • When I import the SOG back into the editor, it hangs a bit and then crashes. The Chromium UI itself glitches out, looks to me like the Chromium GPU process itself died
  • Refreshing the page doesn't fix it - I have to either restart Chromium or otherwise get the GPU process to restart

I had this issue on my Debian system at first, and moved it to Windows to make sure it's not a problem with my Debian system. Even if I create a SOG using splat-transform 1.10.2, it doesn't load. The equivalent PLY works fine but ofc loads very slow.

Any logs I should copy-paste or console errors to check for? Is anyone else getting this?
