Funding for Hackathon #2
Comments
NSF DBI probably has a vehicle to fund a hackathon. I can ask my PO next
week.

From @brianzhang01 <https://github.com/brianzhang01>'s notes
<https://github.com/brianzhang01/popsim-notes#discussion> and mine, here
are some suggestions:
- DIMACS <http://dimacs.rutgers.edu/> (jk: not quite sure how they
would fund us?)
- Mozilla hackathons (not quite sure about this?)
- Copernicus hackathons <https://hackathons.copernicus.eu>. Looks like
they're not funding any more though.
- CZI open source software for science
<https://chanzuckerberg.com/rfa/essential-open-source-software-for-science/>
Next round closes on Feb 4th, so that's not feasible. Next round submission
is mid June. CZI seems like a good match, but it's very competitive.
Any other ideas? Are there any funding opportunities from more traditional
sources, e.g. look for workshop funds from SMBE or something?

I know some people who've participated/organized Mozilla hackathons. I get some info from them. |
