Passing terminal shell prompt

Hello,

I came across this awesome tool.
I was wondering if it's possible to pass the terminal shell prompt when starting pssh because currently it doesn't.
I have a very custom shell prompt and it would be nice to pass this along when starting a new pssh session...

If you run it outside of tmux or shell it should try to detect what your current terminal is using from the SHELL environment variable, or if that's not set it checks if you have zsh, sh, or bash in that order. What shell are you trying to use?

You might try just setting SHELL in that command to whatever you're using, i.e.

SHELL=/bin/zsh pssh

I don't know if I'm explaining this correctly but in my terminal, I normally have something like:
[✓] user@hostname:~ [master|∗5+1] $

But when starting pssh, I just get:
[user@hostname ~]$

So my fancy prompt has disappeared...

To me, it sounds like it's starting the wrong shell that you don't have configured to display your prompt. It could be that you usually use bash but pssh prefers zsh, or any number of things.

Setting the SHELL var to the binary that you're running to get your custom prompt should fix it, since pssh respects all the configuration you have when you start up a new shell, just like you've opened a brand new terminal.

I'm using bash in my terminal.
But pssh seems to take over the SHELL correctly.
The SHELL variable is also bash when starting a pssh session...

Not really sure what else is wrong...

Okay, that helps. Seems like bash isn't running the startup scripts correctly when it's run from inside pssh. I'll see what's causing the issue.

What about just running something like:

SHELL="bash --login" pssh

That should run your login scripts like normal, or if your config is in .bashrc this might do it:

SHELL=sh pssh

When using
SHELL="bash --login" pssh
I get

# [ pssh terminal ]
# Type `exit` to terminate this terminal.
hub alias: unsupported shell
supported shells: bash zsh sh ksh csh fish
[✓] user@hostname:~ $ 

So one error about unsupported shell, but I can live with that..
