So recently I decided to install openSUSE Tumbleweed on my laptop and try out niri. These two decisions got me getting the most minimal installation of distro. After setting up fcitx5 (IM framework) and trying it out in several apps I found out that osu! and several other are the only one that rejects accepting anything from fcitx5. How does it mean to work? When you hit a key combo, fcitx5 switches input to any of configured and uses it to write in text. Sometimes, when IME is involved, it shows a special bar that suggest user a couple of choices. How does it work in osu? It defaults to English and doesn't take any other choice. Video bellow meant to show the intended behavior and the actual behavior: 2026-10-03.02-23-53.mp4I won't deny that I just configured it incorrectly and it actually works well in osu! (as I've mentioned, besides osu! there are several other apps that refuse to work with this framework), but that's why I'm opening this discussion. |

Update, moving to a different shell (from DMS to Noctalia) somehow had solved this problem Gonna pick it as the answer in case somebody will encounter the same issue |
