Bug description

Steps to reproduce:

1. Open the editor
2. Navigate to the beginning of a long, slow slider
3. Resume playback and navigate to any tab other than the compose tab
4. Wait until the slider has progressed about halfway
5. Navigate back to the compose tab
   Slider ticks appear in the wake of the sliderball and persist for some time even after the slider has completed
