NO_DATA for manual status update

Describe the bug
The system is populating the data point as NO_DATA instead of DOWN.

To Reproduce
Steps to reproduce the behavior:

1. create a manual type monitor and set to UP status by default.
2. update monitor status to Down and monitor data point status of current timestamp to Down through api
3. wait some minutes and check that the status page show NO_DATA beginning from the updated timestamp

Expected behavior
I expected the system to automatically fill in the timestamps from the status update to "DOWN" instead of NO_DATA.

It seem's that v4.1.0 addressed this issue.
Now I'd like to understand how the monitor update through API is supposed to work with the monitor option "override with last known status", should I the API endpoint /api/v4/monitors/{monitor_tag} alone to update monitor status to DOWN or do I have to update every datapoint using this API endpoint /api/v4/monitors/{monitor_tag}/data/{timestamp} ?
