Describe the bug
In the Statistics dialog, the main region displays the date at the top, complemented with a time range. However, the word "à" displays as mojibake. Moreover, dates make no sense, visibly using MDY.
To Reproduce
Steps to reproduce the behavior:
- Ensure that Workrave is running in French
- Ensure you use 1.11 RC 3 (or 2)
- Open Workrave's contextual menu
- Open Statistics
Expected behavior
The line should display the date in a format used in French regions, such as DMY, or―even better―an unambiguous one like ISO 8601. Times should be formatted as "de x à y":
Screenshots

** Windows (please complete the following information in case you encountered the bug on Windows):
- Windows Version: 11 25H2
- Workrave Version 1.11 RC 3
Additional context
The corruption must be a regression from commit bd1d56e (which partly solved issue #656). As for the date format, it is fine in 1.10.54, but appears to have changed to a North American English format since 1.10.
