How to play media overlay (For read aloud feature) using swift toolkit

Hello @mickael-menu ,
I am integrating swift-toolkit to display the fixed layout and reflowable Epub files.Currently I am working on fixed layout pub and the files are opened successfully. But the media overlay are not working, the SMIL files inside the epub. Hence unable to activate read aloud feature.

Please suggest how I can run the media overlays using our library to activate read aloud feature.

Media overlays are not yet supported in the Readium toolkit. We plan to add support for it early 2023.

@mickael-menu Is there any open issue or discussion ticket for adding media overlay support to your mobile toolkit that would allow interested users to follow development status and be notified of progress updates?

Yes it's on our roadmap for the second half of this year. This time it's high priority.

Hi @mickael-menu. We're working on integrating the Readium swift-toolkit and are wondering if you have an ETA yet on when the media overlay support will be released. I see you last mentioned work is planned for the latter half of this year. Thanks.

It is still planned to be worked this year, but I can't give you an ETA.
