The new version of RES redirects all imgur links to https. I suppose that what's happening is that since the original user submitted a plain http link, this means that where you end up isn't identical to the submitted link, so it doesn't match up and reddit companion's bar doesn't come up. Removing the https manually will give you the bar.
/u/honestbleeps said when I reported this that the best solution would be for reddit companion to change to interpret the URLs identically, so I'm passing that along here.
