Cannot transmit images to Android device using latest (4-5-2012) rosjava_core/android_core

What steps will reproduce the problem?

I run the roscore, load the app on the Android device, and then run rosbag play on the PC.

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?

I expect to see an image on the Android device, but the app appears to be processing something very heavily.

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?

I got rosjava_core and android_core on 4/5 using latest ROS electric, Ubuntu 10.04 running in VMWare on Mac Lion.
