Is it possible to use afl-cc's LTO instrumentation

I see for the plugin the PCGUARD is used but I was wondering if the LTO one could be used as well or something precludes that as a possibility

Depends how rust links. If it happens with lld then it might be possible

I've never used LTO and I am not familiar with it. So I can't add much to what @vanhauser-thc said.

However, it should be be possible to link with lld by creating a .cargo/config.toml file like this:

[target.'cfg(all())']
linker = "lld"

If you try to modify afl.rs to use LTO and run into difficulty, I would be happy to help.
