"Updating variables" does not update variable, and freezes all other functions

This pertains to the curation tool - "File options"

When updating a variable via the "Edit Variable" function on the variable row, it states that "Changes were applied", despite the fact that changes were applied. However, if the change pertained to the weight declaration, it does not in fact update the variables. After pressing the "Update Variables" button, any subsequent pressing of the "edit variable" button (even if for another variable) will bring back users to the previously "updated" variable. Navigation arrows also cease working after the "Update variable" button is pressed.

tl;dr: Buttons stop working, or redirect to the incorrect variable, once "update variable" is pressed

This seems to be a problem after a dataset has been changed in the Data Explorer tool and published.

Attempted duplication on my machine and could not reproduce.
