Objects on the Pasteboard Do Not Move with Their Page When Pages Are Reordered #214

Description

Type: Feature Request / Behaviour Improvement

Description:

When working with objects placed outside the page area (on the pasteboard), those objects remain in their original position when the corresponding page is moved to another position in the document.

For example, if I have an image, text frame, or other object positioned outside Page 5, and I then move Page 5 to another position in the document, the page itself moves but the objects on the pasteboard remain where they were. As a result, they become detached from the page they were originally associated with.

I understand that Scribus uses a single, continuous pasteboard surrounding the entire document, rather than a separate pasteboard associated with each individual page, as in applications such as Adobe InDesign. Therefore, this behaviour may be a consequence of the current document architecture.

However, it would be very useful if Scribus could provide a way to associate pasteboard objects with a specific page, so that they would move together with that page when pages are reordered.

Suggested improvement:

Consider introducing an option such as "Attach/Associate object with page", or otherwise allowing objects positioned outside the page to retain their relationship to the page they belong to.

When the page is moved, duplicated, or reordered, associated pasteboard objects could then move accordingly.

This would be particularly useful for large documents where the pasteboard is used to temporarily store images, text, or other elements that belong to a specific page.
