Well, I work for a non-profit. We were in the process of moving a lot of data from one cloud solution to a personal backup that is self-hosted (how fitting for this show!). During this process, I misconfigured one of the drives a bit. So, I hadn't made a local backup yet, and folks had been using for about 3 days before this happened. Well, I restarted the machine and boom all of our 2-3 TB of data was just gone. I had that immediate sick stomach feeling. Then I remembered, we still hadn't removed our cloud solution entirely yet. I quickly began migrating everything again using rclone and had my own local copy of a few things that happened over the last few days. In the end we lost only minimum amounts of data, AND luckily it started on a Friday so I fixed most of it over the weekend. No one really even noticed.
