edit view: user authentication on Mac cannot be exited

Running on Mac:

• Go to edit view on a wifi network
• Ask to reveal pw
• System prompt comes up to enter system pw in order to view
• If user does not fill in pw there is no way to exit and the only solution is to close the terminal

Good call, we should fail and show an error when the authentication is denied, rather than retrying in a loop forever.
