when will this project have a way to support financially? with SP going down i want my money to go to the successor. i'd assume after feature parity has been reached, but i'd like to support sooner if it'll help.

will you accept Monero or similar?

Yes. We currently do not have any donation method set up, but we will evaluate that today - the key blocker is tax stuff that needs to be worked out, as we're running the infra through an LLC and not off our personal AWS accounts.

We aren't at any imminent risk of funding problems - we have currently funded our accounts for ~3 months of current beta operations and can add more if necessary, although we are targeting a prod release well before 3 months are up anyway.

In the long term, when we go live in production, there are plans for a premium subscription that unlocks higher limits for features that would be cost-prohibitive to offer as unlimited to everyone. Crypto in particular has complicated tax that we readily admit we do not fully understand and want to get right, but it's definitely planned as an option for subscriptions. When that is live, we will support at least BTC and XMR, and potentially others.

Crypto donations can probably be wired the same way as subscriptions, just skipping the backend account update, but it's still infrastructure work to accept at all, so going on the list but not a top priority yet.
