it works if i use nodejs_compat, but i opened this issue to see if we can make it work without that compatibility flag.

You have no wrangler.jsonc file defined. Maybe it has to do with this?

I needed also to add in the file app.config.ts under the key server the following:

 rollupConfig: {
      external: ['node:async_hooks', ],
 },

And for the preview you need something like:

vinxi build &&  WS_NO_BUFFER_UTIL=true wrangler dev .output/server/index.mjs -- --assets .output/public/
