Where is installation option for installation directory?

Am I missing something, the installer seems to just do what it wants and I've been unable to allow it to complete since I'm not seeing a choice to set the installation path.

Hello @jimburnsphd. You are not missing anything - the Windows Sonic Pi installer does not currently allow a customisable installation directory.

Yeah, that's a big bug! Software should NEVER presume or force an installation directory.

I agree that it is always better for software to be flexible regarding the installation target 😄

Keep in mind also, that Sonic Pi's core development team (except for Sam, who relies on income from talks, gigs and crowd-funding) are a small group of volunteers, each with our own skills, knowledge, resources, and time commitments.

We'd love to rework the installation process (Sam himself has agreed that this would be a great idea) - it just comes down to a question of resources vs priorities. We're always interested in outside help!
