Decompress Throughput change

after #2184, our decompress tput benchmark seems to have dropped precipitously, but i cannot replicate this change either on my macbook or my intel machine

FWIW there's a small slowdown (~10%) reported on zen4

Ok will dig in and figure out how we got from a 10% on bare metal to 50% of the benchmark machines
