Hey GitHub Sponsors, I'm a current graduate student at CU Boulder studying Aerospace Engineering. I am doing my best to create a new open-source spacecraft flight simulation that is easy to use and high performance in C and C++. The goal is for this software to have capacity to support spacecraft engineering research as well as people in industry who might use it as a reference or for custom analyses.
This is a large and longer-term project that I've wanted to tackle for a while. I've built a well-rounded repertoire in spacecraft flight simulation and Guidance, Navigation, and Controls in my early career and so naturally I want to share this expertise with others. Earthbound is the repository that I hope to shape into a full-feature and dynamic sandbox for spacecraft flight simulation and analysis.
Another reason for this passion project is that I fundamentally believe too many engineers in industry and academia use matlab for a lot of simulation and analysis, which is usually quite slow, low performance, and costs $$$. So this is in part, a personal crusade against mathworks.
Any help is appreciated, as this is a lot of time, so any funding for this project specifically gives me more incentive to sink in the time needed for quality work.
