I maintain Claude Chat Exporter — a one-click, privacy-first tool that turns any Claude.ai conversation into a clean Markdown file. Tables, maths, code, artifacts and attachments all come through exactly as Claude wrote them, with YAML frontmatter and one heading per turn, so an export drops straight into an Obsidian vault or a RAG pipeline and just works.

It runs entirely in your browser. Your conversations stay on your machine, it reads only Claude's own site over your existing session, and it is MIT licensed — every feature free, for everyone, permanently.

Here is the honest part — It reads Claude's internal API, which is undocumented and changes without warning. When that happens, exports break for everyone at once, and someone has to notice, work out what moved, and ship a fix. That is most of what maintaining this actually is, and it is what your sponsorship pays for.

Sponsoring keeps it working, release after release — so the conversations you export next month land as cleanly as the ones you exported last month. If a recurring payment is not for you, a one-off is just as welcome and just as useful.

Whatever amount you choose, GitHub adds a sponsor badge to your profile and shows you among my sponsors — provided you choose to sponsor publicly.

@agarwalvishal

Ten sponsors is the point where keeping this maintained becomes something I can plan around rather than fit into spare evenings. Every tier counts toward it, one-time or monthly.

Claude Chat Exporter is in your product or knowledge stack

At this level your support covers the project's maintenance outright — the difference between a tool that keeps up with Claude and one that quietly stops working.

What you get:

  • Everything in Team, with your logo placed first in that block — the first sponsor anyone arriving at the project sees
  • Your logo on the install page as well — the page every user passes through to install the bookmarklet, and the one they return to whenever a new version ships, because the update notice points them there
