Cutefish
Cutefish is a Linux distribution built around Cutefish Desktop, a calm, fast desktop environment that also runs on other distributions.
Cutefish Desktop is made of parts designed together, so every part looks and moves the same way:
- cutefish-compositor: a Wayland compositor written for this desktop, drawing the shell, window effects and animations itself
- cutefish-toolkit: a native C++ toolkit drawn with Skia, used by every Cutefish application
- The shell: a dock, a full-screen launcher, an overview of every window, and virtual desks
- Applications: Files, Terminal, Settings, Calendar, System Monitor, Text Editor, Video Player and screen capture
Everything is developed in the open, and most of it is released under the BSD 3-Clause License.
Why sponsor
Building a desktop from the compositor up takes a lot of time. Your sponsorship lets more of that time go into Cutefish, and helps cover the infrastructure needed to build and release it in the open.
